Te KAAINGA WAAHINE
Tukutuku and Taaniko are a decorative Maaori weaving tradition. Tukutuku panels are seen in the wharenui, showcasing visual symbols. I drew inspiration from these patterns, seeing them as icons for potential, growth, and unity - like building blocks. The tukutuku pattern also stands for togetherness. In the context of Te Kaainga Waahine, it represents the village; individuals united become something greater. The Kaainga (home) shape in the logo emphasises belonging and community. The colours used within the design are hunter green for growth, sunshine yellow for positivity, red for strength, and blush for manaakitanga.
